Pathway of Success: Choosing the right coaching class

Coaching is the sure-shot way of climbing the ladders of success. With the help of experienced support, right motivation and career centric guidance, a student makes an easy way to clear the roadblocks of examination without the fear of going wrong at any place. Any serious profession requires a thorough knowledge and practical application of the concepts. A student cannot do it solely, unless and until, there is a back support to help him perform the same. In fact, the potential employers also seek to take the tested candidates on board in their organization.  Like for example, the profession of Chartered Accountancy requires a lot of precision and hard work from candidate’s end. He needs to undergo a three years long articleship before entering into the professional sphere. Apart from that, he has to dedicate more than half of his time into studies since clearing CA is a tough nut.
This cannot be done single handedly. A student has to attend the regular classroom sessions or coaching class to make him eligible for the examination pattern. Careful attention needs to be paid before choosing a right coaching class. Being pioneers in Satellite coaching from last 4 years, ETEN CA has captured the majority share of CA students market by providing the best coaching from the best of teaching faculty of India. We present you with the tips to choose the best coaching institute for your studies, not only for CA, but the tips are applicable for any field. We will provide you examples from ETEN CA point of view.

  1. Choose the institute that is near to your home. Seems basic, but most advantageous, the nearest CA coaching institute will help saves a lot of money and cuts off your travelling time to almost half. This will provide you with ample time to self study. (Note: ETEN CA is available at 150+ locations across India)
  2. Choose the institute that has the best of faculty. Since industry experience speaks, the faculties will teach you from their practical knowledge of the market and help you score the better grades in examination (ETEN CA is proud to have CA Parveen Sharma, CA Kapileshwar Bhalla, CA Dr. Girish Ahuja, CA Dharmendra Madaan and many more)
  3. Apart from practical know-hows, the coaching institute should also provide the study material to the students. This will help students to revise the concepts at their home. (ETEN CA provides books to all its students)
  4. There should be something documented from faculty’s end which student can carry themselves at home to study and revise. At ETEN CA every student is provided with Video Archive facility which they can access if they have missed any lecture or wants to view the lecture once again for revision purpose.
  5. A smart, comfortable and hygienic ambience is necessary for a classroom where students can study with complete dedication and no external disturbance. ETEN CA classrooms are all air-conditioned, equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure where students can study comfortably.
So, plan your steps before implementation. Your career needs serious thinking right from the beginning. Rely on the best and choose the best coaching class.
BEST OF LUCK!

Articleship- An Important Phase for CA Aspirants

The Chartered Accountancy course is considered as the most coveted profession in the country. Rated as difficult, the course attaches a lot of quality and values of the profession. The rigorous three and half year of Articleship is considered as the most important phase for a CA aspirant. The vast curriculum along with practical training approach (Articleship) is designed in a way so that a student gets ready to carry the baton of the profession ahead.
There is a saying that “Practice makes a man perfect”. With this old age adage, the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI) has devised the way out to make student’s future ready for the profession. A student should not only conform the theoretical knowledge, but should also be aware of the practical know-hows of the profession. Like swimming cannot be learnt by simply reading the book on “How to swim”, similarly, the course cannot be completed with the 3 years of practical articleship which allows a student to explore the career horizon. The potential employer also examine whether the CA has conceptual clarity of the profession or not and most importantly knows how to apply the theory learnt.

But there are few students who do not take their articleship seriously. This will adversely affect their training and overall learning experience. Few questions always arise in a student mind while undergoing training: Why is the articleship training so long? Why is it required? How I will be benefited?
Here are few tips from us to the student fraternity on why to take your Articleship successfully:
What to learn
You can learn the maintenance of books of accounts, Filing Income Tax Returns, Tax and VAT audit, Bank audit etc. It familiarize you with the basic accounting software’s- Tally and Busy. Not only the numerical skills, this will also improve your communication skills, as will it help you become a good speaker and good situation analyzer.
How to learn
You have to follow a structure in a organization while working. Eventually, your seniors will guide you about the work, but at one point, you have to learn things on your own. For this, explore the reference books, Institute journals and apply the concepts at practical situations i.e in audit, accounting etc.
Always remember that the three years of articleship are foundation stones for your impending career. So, prioritize your time accordingly and learn when to relax and when to put your best foot forward.

The Guru mantra to crack CA examination

Are you a CA student?

Do you have sleepless nights before examination?

Are you panicked about the fact that you will forget everything at the last moment?

ETEN CA brings you some secret tips on how to remain calm and composed during your exam time. Follow this easy and lucid guru mantra and you would surely do wonders in your exams.
  1. First and foremost, believe in yourself. Adapt the positive attitude right in the beginning that “Yes! I Can Do It”. There is no point in keeping the negative thought that CA exams are very difficult to crack. Just have faith in your hard work.
  2. Allot yourself enough time for studies and revision. CA is a professional course, so don’t carry casual attitude towards studies right from the beginning.
  3. Many students are confused whether to take either the groups or one at a time during IPCC level. Never discuss the same with your friends. You are your own judge and are better aware about your capabilities. Choose whatever you think you can do justice to.
  4. Remember to allot quality time for studies rather than studying just for the sake of it.
  5. Make a proper study time table on daily basis and review it regularly so that you can keep yourself align with the schedule.
  6. Allot a proper break time during studies. This will keep yourself mentally and physically active and alert and will not let you forget whatever you have studied so easily.
  7. Studying does not mean keeping yourself aloof with the world. Shell out some time for outdoor activities. Meet your friends and share quality time with your family.
  8. Plan your day in such a manner that you can do 2-3 subjects in a day. For example Audit and FM, Indirect Taxation and Accounts. This will not result in boredom.
  9. Practice whatever you have studied with the help of CA scanners and keep yourself ready with the latest exam pattern so that you do not get confuse at the last moment.
  10. One last thing, treat these exams as your general school and college exams. Don’t let the CA phobia take over you.

R. Sivabhogam- First Women Chartered Accountant of India

Do you know who the first woman CA of our country was?
Well the plain looking, 23 year old women from Vellore, R.Sivabhogam surprised the nation when she became the first certified women Chartered Accountant. Born on 23rd July, 1907 she completed her schooling from Lady Wellington School, Chennai. Extremely motivated by clarion call of Mahatma Gandhi, she along with her friends participated in the Non-Cooperation Movement and was imprisoned for a year. It was during that time she developed the interest in Accounts and desired to explore the horizons, untouched by women at that time. She got full support from her elder sister and registered herself for the Government Diploma in Accountancy and subsequently created the history by becoming the First Indian Women Accountant in 1933. She underwent articleship training under Mr C.S Sastri.

She was keen in starting an independent practice but British government enacted a law, preventing the people who were imprisoned to register themselves as Accountants. She filed a petition against the act and miraculously got the verdict in her favor. Later, she became the Chairperson of the Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. She became India’s first women who hold this position for a continuous period of three years. During her tenure, Sivabhogam carried out number of audits. Her forte was Reserve Bank of India audit. However, she preferred conducting audits of charitable institution. She motivated youngsters to take up the Chartered Accountancy course, and provided coaching classes. She was keen that girls join the CA course and also offered prize for the best women candidate in the Final examination. There has been a steady growth (approx 20%) in the women CA. At this rate, the country will have half the number of women CAs in the next three decades. A true patriot, Sivabhogam wore khadi throughout her life and travelled only by bus. An endowment in her name is being created for awarding scholarships to economically weak women students desirous of pursuing the CA course.
