CPT - GATE TO CA

Increased pace of industraialisation since 20 years has given high salaries to young CA aspirants. New Emerging opportunities has created global access to this profession. In order to enter in to this august
profession, a student has to write an objective examination called Common Proficiency Test (CPT).
This objective exam is conducted twice in an year in the month of June and December each year.

It comprises four subjects Accounting,Law, Economics and Quantitative Aptitudes( Maths & Statistics).
It is a 200 marks examination where a student has to secure 50% marks in 4 hour Sunday exam covering
2 sessions of 2 hours each of  Accounting & Law and Economics & QA. There is a negative mark of
-1/4 for every mistake committed.
The level of questions is a combination of average, tricky and difficult
with a lot of emphasis on class 12th knowledge of the (10+2) commerce sylabus of CBSE board. However
certain new subjects are introduced like 3 Acts of Mercantile law and certain advanced areas of Statistics in
Quantitative aptitudes. It hardly comprises 25% of the total weightage.
